Numerous studies have shown that not having a positive male role model in a young man's life is contributing to many of the social problems in our country. According to studies, children without a male in the household account for some of the following issues:
- 63% of youth suicides
- 71% of pregnant teenagers
- 70% of youth in state-operated institutions
- 80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger
- 85% of youth who exhibit behavior disorders
- 90% of homeless and runaway children
Even more, boys without a male role model are nearly twice as likely to struggle with hyperactivity, experience conduct and emotional disorders, and have a social impairment. They are also three times more likely to struggle in school or repeat a grade, five times more likely to be poor, 33 times more likely to be seriously abused, and 73 times more likely to be killed. These are astounding and overwhelming results that can be minimized.
